DESCRIPTION:Details\n\n\nREGISTER here and accept the liability waiver:\nhttps://x.gldn.io/e/y3zvlxqsBMb \nSTORM Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) and TX NICA Try-it-Out \nSouth Texas Off-Road Mountain Bikers (STORM) hosts this free annual youth mountain biking event on the dirt trails at McAllister Park. \nThis is an excellent opportunity for parents and children to get out on the dirt trails and see how fun mountain biking can be. Kids will learn basic trail skills and trail etiquette during this trail riding introduction. Participants will meet at the McAllister Park practice fields parking lot at Pvalion 5 near the bike skills course and pump track (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Mjtvg8Pjg3zgLcvR8)\, and the event will last from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. \nThe Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League will join STORM in getting More Kids on Bikes! This event welcomes everyone—whether you’re new to mountain biking or an experienced rider looking to connect with a new team. \nParents and community members are encouraged to attend\, meet our dedicated NICA students and coaches\, and explore opportunities to get involved as coaches or supporters. It’s a day of fun\, community\, and discovering the joy of mountain biking. No experience? No problem. Everyone is welcome! \nWhat to Bring:\nRequired: \n\nBicycle\nHelmet\nClosed-toe shoes\nWater bottle or hydration pack\n\nRecommended: \n\nSunglasses\nGloves\nSunscreen\nInsect repellant\n\nThis event is “weather permitting” and dependent on trail conditions to protect the trail system. Updates and cancellations will be posted on this Meetup group\, the “STORM South Texas Off Road Mountain-Bikers” Facebook events page\, and the STORM website events page (https://stormmtb.org/events-calendar). \nParents or accompanying adults must sign a liability waiver (link at top) for themselves and their child before the ride. Parents/guardians may accompany their child on the ride. \nAgenda\n9-9:20 Welcome Stations\nWelcome Station – Waivers and Instructions\nBike Ready Station – assess bike ready and assign groupings with stickers\nNametag Station – Decorate Nametags\nConey Course – to ride around on.\n9:20-9:45 Group Games\nWe’ll work on a few basic bike skills and get you ready for the trails.\n9:45-10:30 RIDE the Trails\nTime to head out to the trails! There will likely be a wide variety of skill levels. Our expert coaches will be sure to keep this ride fun.\n10:30ish Recap/Awards\nMeet back at the team tent.
